Hello and welcome to my blog!
I’m excited to share that, starting tomorrow, I’ll be sharing updates embarking on an ambitious project that’s been brewing in my mind for years: expanding a short story I wrote three years ago into a full-length novel called Car Gone Rogue. For 30 days, I’ll be writing every day, aiming to reach 75,000 words by the end of this journey. And the best part? I’ll be bringing you along for the ride with daily posts!
A Bit About Car Gone Rogue
Car Gone Rogue began as a short, simple piece with a unique twist—what if a car had a mind of its own, and what if it had its own agenda? What followed was a story filled with suspense, mystery, and a protagonist whose life changes in ways he never imagined. Now, I’m fleshing out this concept into a novel, digging into the characters, adding layers to the plot, and seeing where this journey takes us.
Over the next 30 days, I’ll be posting daily updates on my progress, sharing what I’m learning, and offering a few sneak peeks along the way.
Why a Daily Writing Challenge?
- I have been wanting to do a successful writing challenge in November for years since freshman year of high school. I have not been successful thus year, and I wanted to try again!
- I was inspired by Simon K Jones and Esther Hadassah, two talented writers I read on Substack, but also Sarra Cannon, who is an extremely talented and popular author and Youtuber. All of three of these people I admire!
What You Can Expect in the Next Month
Each day starting November 2nd, I’ll post an update where I’ll cover not just how many words I wrote, but also:
- The Writing Process: From character development to plot breakthroughs, I’ll be sharing the inside scoop on what it’s like to bring Car Gone Rogue to life.
- Daily Wins and Struggles: Writing is a journey with high points and low points. I’ll be sharing both—the days the words flow and the days I stare at a blank screen.
Although that last one won’t be incredibly likely, given the time I put into reoutlining and redeveloping the plot, characters, and theme before I even started writing!
- Exclusive Sneak Peeks: As the story takes shape, I’ll share snippets I’m excited about, offering you a first look at Car Gone Rogue as it comes together.
Thank you for being here! I’m so excited to have this space to document my journey and to build a community with readers like you.
If you’re interested in the process of writing a novel, or if you just love a good story, I hope you’ll follow along and maybe even find some inspiration for your own creative projects.
See you back here tomorrow, ready to tell you how Day 1 of Rewriting Car Gone Rogue went!
Posts will be posted at 8:00 am est!
Also, let me know in the comments if you’re working on a writing project of your own!
Stay tuned!
