Hello, everyone!

I hope everyone had a great holiday season! I am so excited for 2024 to officially close, so that we all can have a fresh new beginning!

I wanted to make a special announcement—the last special announcement for this year!

Well, 2 special announcements, actually!

  1. MY WEBSITE’S VISIBILITY WILL BE SWITCHED TO PRIVATE ON JANUARY 1ST, 2025 UNTIL DECEMBER 2ND, MY 10TH AUTHOR ANNIVERSARY!
  2. I WILL BE TAKING A BREAK FROM MY OCTOBER JOHNSON PROJECT IN ALL ASPECTS!

WHY THE BIG CHANGE?

Well, let’s start with the first announcement.

I initially thought that switching away from just writing updates and writing-related posts would be enough to quench my obsession with validation via my writing. Maybe if I posted book reviews and book-related posts, then maybe it would be enough. And I announced that in the previous blog post last week.

But then, I started to think about this more. And I realized that if I did that, I wouldn’t be writing for external validation, but reading for external validation.

And I feel like I did a bad habit of this in both September and November.

Don’t get me wrong—I still might post book reviews on Goodreads and Amazon. But that’s as far as my posting about books will go until December 2nd of next year. This will give me a chance to enjoy the books I’m reading, whether it’s as a reader or writer.

Now, onto the second announcement about taking a break from October Johnson.

I’ve realized I’m no longer in love with this project—not in the way I should be. Lately, I’ve been focused on fixing and releasing a new version of the series as quickly as possible, thinking I could speed through it and get it out there.

But I’ve come to understand that this approach isn’t healthy for me—not as a writer, not in my personal life, and not in my spiritual journey. As a Christian and a freshman at SMU switching my major from Economics to Psychology, there are other things in my life that need my attention right now.

I’ve taken a break from October Johnson before, back in 2022, but this time will be different. Instead of pushing myself to work on something I’m not fully invested in, I’ll be focusing on a project that I’m truly passionate about—Car Gone Rogue.

During this break, I’ll also be working on shifting my mindset so that my passion for writing comes from within—focused on internal validation, not external approval.

THANK YOU

I just want to thank all of you who have been supporting me through this journey, regardless of whether you’ve seen my website or any other of my works or not!

If you’re reading this before January 1st, you still have time to view what you haven’t seen before I switch my settings to Private.

Or you can subscribe to stay updated when the website is back in action—perhaps even before this!

Take care, and I’ll see you in December 2025.

I wish you all a Happy New Year!
