Hey, everyone! It’s been a while, hasn’t it?
After three months away from the blog, I’m officially back—and earlier than planned! Originally, I intended to return in December 2nd, my 10th anniversary, but sometimes creativity has a mind of its own, and this was one of those times.
I couldn’t ignore the pull to get back into blogging, writing, and sharing my journey with you all. And what better way to make a comeback than with something bold, exciting, and a little unconventional?
The NaPoWriMo A-to-Z Diaries Series + A Few Poems
April is almost here, and that means it’s time for two well-known writing challenges: NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month) and the A-to-Z Blogging Challenge. Normally, they’re separate, but I’ve decided to combine them into one hybrid creative adventure.
Each day (except Sundays and Mondays), I’ll be posting an acrostic poem inspired by a letter of the alphabet—starting with “A” and “B” on April 1st, the first Two-for-Tuesday poem and ending with “Z” on April 30th. But that’s not all! Since I’m also deep in drafting the second half of Can You Spell Werewolf?, my current project, each post after April 1st, will include a mini writing update about how my novel is coming along. This alphabet poems will form a “poetic soundtrack” for my WIP!
I’m not posting anything on Sundays, but on Mondays, I will be posting a new version of poems that I have previously written in the spring. Can’t wait for you all to read those!
Why This Feels Like the Right Time to Return
This blog has always been an evolving space for me, and poetry was actually a huge part of my creative life back in high school. It’s been years since I last posted poetry, but something about this moment—this challenge, this return—feels like a perfect full-circle moment. Plus, balancing poetry with novel drafting is going to be an adventure, and I want to bring you all along for the ride.
Plus, I felt like I’m in a better place to post content than I was at the end of last year or the beginning of the quarter.
WHAT’S COMING NEXT
But before we dive into that, I have one more special post coming up—“Goodbye, Q1, Hello, Q2!”—dropping on March 31st. Consider it a send-off to the first quarter of the year and a warm welcome to the creative new beginning that is April.
So, whether you’re here for the poetry, the writing updates, or just to see how this whole experiment unfolds, I’m glad to have you along for the journey. Let’s make this return one to remember!
See you in two days for my official farewell to Q1 and the start of something new!
