Hello, everyone!

I just thought I would take the time to share with you all how the last three months have been in my reading and writing journey AKA what has kept me busy creatively, and where I want to be in the next three months!

Let’s get into it!

Q1 Recap:

Reading:

This hasn’t been my most prolific quarter when it comes to reading, at least not the books that I want to read. The only books I read and finished were:

The House of Cross, the latest Alex Cross novel

and

the Akeelah and the Bee novelization.

But aside from that, the books that I started to read, reread, or still haven’t finished reading or rereading are:

Christine by Stephen King

The Candleberry Chronicles: The Burning Candle by Caden Gamez

Beastly by Alex Flinn

100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

That is something I will most definitely change in Q2 of 2025…and book reviews will definitely return to this blog after my spring semester of college in the first half of May!

Writing:

While I wasn’t the most prolific reader in the last three months, I can’t say that as much for my writing journey!

I decided to take a hiatus from this blog, and I was going to have that hiatus be until December 2nd, my 10th anniversary, for those of you who don’t know.

For obvious reasons, this is no longer the case.

But as far as my October Johnson project is concerned…at least as far as creating a NEW version of October Johnson, that project is dead in the water.

Instead, when January first started, I turned my attention back to Car Gone Rogue, one of my other WIPs.

But after realizing how much a larger project Car Gone Rogue was going to be than how I initially thought it would be, I decided to put that project on hold until after I finished writing the first draft of the project I’m currently working on, Can You Spell Werewolf?

Can You Spell Werewolf? is my first YA fantasy novel, revolving around two middle schoolers, Flynn Barnes, a boy who gets cursed to be a werewolf because he doesn’t believe in the friendship, and Delight Weston, the girl he has to train to make it to the national spelling bee in order to break his curse in a city where magic and magical creatures are outlawed.

This is the culmination of the idea I came up with the November of my freshman year of high school.

I finally completed what I thought was a complete outline of the novel in January, and I have been writing this novel since the first day of Feburary 1st.

In fact, just the day before writing this post, I completed the first half of the rough draft!

Q2 Goals

Reading:

  • Finish the books I listed below
  • Write book reviews for them

Writing:

  • Write the second half of the first draft of Can You Spell Werewolf? if not by the end of April, then the end of May.
  • Write and post 30 blog post poems, 26 for the NaPoWrimo Diaries Series in April
  • Plan out the overarching the story of Season 1 and the first two books of Car Gone Rogue

Anyway, that’s all for me! Hope everyone has a great new month and a great quarter!

Stay tuned for the next posts tomorrow!
