Hello, everyone! Welcome to the first installment of my NaPoWrimo Diaries Series, the series that combines NaPowrimo, and the A-Z challenge, in order for me to help create my poetic soundtrack for Can You Spell Werewolf?, made up of acrostic poems.

Since it’s Two-for-Tuesday, you will be recieving the A poem and the B poem today.

This poem adapts the emotions of the first scene of my opening scene of my first chapter:

A tale as old as time

B eginning in this new house

L ooking for permanence is—

Ah, pointless—a cat chasing a mouse

Z ooming through is a song as old as rhyme:

E verything will not be fine

We’re…already off to a great start, right?

I hope you enjoyed this poem!

Stay tuned for the B poem later, which I’m calling…

What a clever challenge PLUS marketing idea! 🙂 I am also planning to write poetry (it’s National Poetry Month!) and combine NaBloPoMo/NaGloPoMo, A to Z, Writers Digest’s Poem-a-Day, The Stafford Challenge – yes, I am quadruple-dipping this year. (I’m also up to “S” in a challenge I started for myself earlier in the year to try new(ish) poetry forms in alphabetical order. I may have to double up on a letter or two – probably when I get to “Q”.)

I love acrostic poems. Even better: try a double-acrostic poem! (First AND last letters of each line spelling different messages.) Have fun! I look forward to seeing what else you come up with during the month.

Thank you so much! I will definitely check out your poems as well!

I’ll also see if I can try the double-acrostic idea!

      Have fun too!

I didn’t get “A” posted, yesterday – not because I didn’t write it, but because I didn’t finish it and hit “Publish.” I shall try to make up for that with two for today! 😀

Thank you so much for reading and commenting! I fell off of the challenge to focus more on the actual novel itself, but maybe I’ll have better luck next year! I did have fun though!
