Milwordy Week One Recap

Week One of Milwordy is done! I may be 14K words behind, but I made creative progress, met author Chloe Gong, and set new goals for Week Two.

Stats:

Average Daily Word Count: 756

Words to go:

Month: 78,042

Year: 994,708

Ok, the first week of Milwordy has officially bit the dust!

I’m ~14,000 words behind, and yesterday was supposed to be the bulk of my words written.

But Friday night was so great that I decided to not write any more words. I attended my very first book signing for bestelling author, Chloe Gong’s latest novel, Coldwire. I barely heard of her beyond what I heard about her a few years ago, but she published her first book before she graduated from college.

I heard of the event through Sarra Cannon’s Youtube vlog. Sarra Cannon said she was going to be there but I didn’t see her.

I did get a chance to take pictures and get my copy signed with Chloe Gong, though, as well as mention to her that I’m also a writer and the name of the project I’m working on, Can You Spell Werewolf?

Which I will talk about in a second!

WEEK WINS

Even though I only wrote 5,292 words, there were a lot of small wins that I’m proud of!

12 chapters of Can You Spell Werewolf? has been now edited. Among these chapters are of all of my second POV character, Delight’s Act One.

I still have Flynn’s Act One to finish up as his Act One, the part that I’m on, needs a lot more work than Delight’s did. Which is great because that means more words to be written for me.

I also drafted 3-ish chapters of A Speller’s Genesis. I’ve covered all of the parts that were initially written for Can You Spell Werewolf?, so it’s all new material from here on out.

I am also proud to say that there’s only one day that I didn’t get any words done, and it was followed by the highest word count day of the week.

WHAT COMES NEXT?

I’m going to do my best to get caught up on the ~14k deficit during Week One (mainly during this weekend), but I’m also not going to stress too much if I can’t completely.

I’m going to finish out Act 1 of Can You Spell Werewolf?, and cover most of Act 2A by the end of the week. And I also plan to write most of the rest of the first mini-arc of A Speller’s Genesis.

I’m also going to write EVERY MORNING THIS WEEK ONWARDS because I only wrote in the morning Days 4, 5, and 7, and I think that’s part of the reason why my word count is so low.

But what about you? Comment below on how the first week of November was for you.

Stay tuned!

Heya! That’s still a lot of good progress made. You should be really proud of yourself regardless!

I’ve been recovering from a really bad cold, so my progress has been doing as much as I have the energy too.
