Milwordy Week 7 Recap

Week 7 was the lowest-output week of Milwordy so far—travel, family, and being out of my normal environment shaped it. But I didn’t quit, I kept tracking, and the December rebound starts now.

Week 7 has officially replaced Week 6 as lowest word count week yet…but I did travel to Tulsa for a day and wrote a little bit on the 20th, the day I travelled back.

STATS:

Total Word Count: 1,629

Average Word Count: 233

December Month Total: 11,369

Words to Go For Milwordy: 959,505

What This Week Looked Like

This week included:

  • Traveling to Tulsa at the end of the 19th
  • Getting back after midnight on the cusp of the 21st
  • Writing a little on the 20th while on the road
  • Spending time with and helping family
  • Being out of my normal writing environment the second half of the week
  • Spending time and being reunited with my Wednesday small group from before I graduated high school the night of the 21st.

Week 7 Wins

  • I did not abandon this challenge entirely
  • I still tracked my words
  • I wrote a little bit while traveling.
  • I still exercised.
  • I still read.
  • I prioritized family and responsibility.

Fun fact: Someone I met while in Tulsa told me about this Christian author named Francine Rivers who apparently uses books and characters from the Bible and expands on them in novels. She gave a suggestion of me doing something similar. I’m going to check out this author soon.

Where I’m At

Week 7 marks the bottom of the expected December dip that was a much deeper dip than I thought. But the important thing is that it’s over.

And a new chance at a new week is here, which for this challenge in the last week of the month is the normal 7 days plus the remaining days of this month afterwards.Late December is where the writing curve begins to turn upward again.

And that’s where I’m headed next, to finish this month strong and return to form.
