Milwordy Week 9 Recap

Week 9 of Milwordy is up — the first recap of 2026. 4,896 words, daily writing consistency, and the launch of A Speller’s Genesis. The pace isn’t perfect yet, but the momentum is real. Progress > pressure.

STATS:

WEEK 9 TOTAL: 4,896

WEEK 9 AVERAGE: 699

WORDS TO GO:

January:

  • Minimum (83,334 word goal): 78,438
  • Stretch (100,000 word goal): 95,104
  • Insane Stretch (200,000 word goal): 195,104

Year: 942,493

Welcome to the first Milwordy weekly recap of 2026!

And to be honest, so far, my 200,000-word goal for the month isn’t looking to be a successful or realistic one foe me.

Week 9 is now my lowest opening week word count at 4,896 , overthrowing Week 1’s 5,292 word count for that title.

But on the bright side, 4,896 is still better than the 1,629 words I wrote in Week 7 or even 2,284 words I wrote in Week 6.

Not to mention for the first time since Week 5, I got words written in every day of the week.

WEEK 9 WINS

So even though I did not get done as much words as I would have liked, Week 9 was still in an improvement in words. And there are a couple of wins to celebrate.

First of all, on January 6th, I got the FIRST THREE CHAPTERS of A Speller’s Genesis, one of the two projects that I’ve been working on, launched on this website!

The fourth chapter is coming tommorrow, January 9th. Basically, 1 to 3 chapters of the 49-chapter serialized novels is going to get release on Tuesdays and Fridays (and 3 surprise Mondays of this quarter monthly), so if you’re interested and haven’t read it already, check it out!

Okay, promotion time over. Back to recapping.

I still have not finished any books on my currently reading list, but I did start reading My Charlie, a Wattpad & Inkitt book.

So all in all, even though I’m not making as much progress as I would like to, I’m still making progress and improving over last month.

SHIFTING GEARS IN MY JANUARY MONTHLY GOAL AND LOOKING AHEAD

But yeah, 200,000 in a month? That’s now going to be my INSANE stretch GOAL. My new/official minimum goal is 83,334, but my minimum STRETCH goal is 100,000 words.

This will definitely lower the pressure and will help me actually write faster, knowing that I don’t have to push as hard if I don’t want to or can’t push as hard.

But anyway, that’s all from me.

How is your January going so far?
