Goodbye, November, Hello December! (10th Author Anniversary Edition)

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the day I have been waiting for: DECEMBER 2ND, 2025, MY 10TH AUTHOR ANNIVERSARY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the day I have been waiting for: DECEMBER 2ND, 2025, MY 10TH AUTHOR ANNIVERSARY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!

Ten years ago, I published my very first book, the first edition of October Johnson and the Secret of the Old Factory, when I was in 4th grade, all by myself, without telling my parents until after I had finished.

October Johnson And The Secret Of The Old Factory, (Hardcover)

To mark the occasion and celebrate the journey I have gobe I am going to be posting 3 blog posts for this website in ONE DAY! One in the morning (the one you’re reading right now), one in the afternoon, and one in the evening, because this is just that special of a day, and I want to share this special milestone with you all!

But let me not belabor the point of why you’re reading this first post!

This post will be an overall reflection of last month, and where I want to be in December.

WRITING STATS

Total Word Count: 29,126

Zero Days: November 3rd, 16th, and 23rd

Chapters Drafted for A Speller’s Genesis: 2

Almost 9,000 words was written for college assignments, almost 2,500 words were written for this blog, and the rest was for my two November creative projects—that I’m carrying into next month—

  • Can You Spell Werewolf: ~13.9k
  • A Speller’s Genesis: ~3.1k

BLOG POSTS POSTED:

NOVEMBER WINS

  1. The fact that I finally started this challenge ALONE is a win during one of the most busiest academic months yet is a WIN.
  2. Attending my first book signing on November 7th and actually talking to Chloe Gong, who released Coldwire last month.
  3. I wrote more during Thanksgiving Break than ever before after a week of nothing but academic writing. Six brand-new CYSW chapters + one new A Speller’s Genesis chapter.
  4. Act One of CYSW was edited/rewritten before the first half of the month was even OVER.
  5. I started working out.

LOOKING AHEAD TO DECEMBER

December is the month where the real work begins.

Here’s what I’m stepping into:

  1. I do have 3 finals—1 on the 11th, 1 on the 12th, and 1 on the 16th, but after that I’m done with the semester.
  2. Act 2 of Can You Spell Werewolf? (Draft 2): My goal is to finish Act 2A and most of Act 2B this month.
  3. Continued work on A Speller’s Genesis: Finishing the first mini-arc aka ACT 1 and building toward the second aka the beginning of Act 2. My plan is to start releasing chapters online on this website, Wattpad, and Inkitt twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays starting January 6th, but we’ll get to that in due time.
  4. I’m going to get as much books knocked off my Currently Reading List as possible, so that I have a clean slate in terms of reading.

CELEBRATING A DECADE OF WRITING

Now we return to the subject before I started to recap—TODAY I’m celebrating 10 years of being a published author.

Ten years of creation.

Ten years of creativity.

Ten years of near-dedication.

Ten years of my journey.

I want to take a moment and say:

Thank you.

To everyone who’s read my work.
To everyone who’s been part of this journey.
To everyone who’s cheered me on.
And to myself — for keeping going even when it was hard.

Even when I wanted to give up (but that’s a story for another day).

Here’s to the next ten years.
Here’s to the stories I haven’t written yet.
Here’s to the writer I’m still becoming.

And here’s to December.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

How did November treat you?
What are you looking forward to in December?

Drop your reflections in the comments.
Let’s close this month — and this decade — together.
