Hello, everyone! Happy July!

I wanted to kick off this first month of the second half of the year and recapping everything I’ve almost accomplished so far in terms of reading and writing so far.

And also tell you what the next three months will look like–including for my TWO websites!

Let’s get into it!

Q2 Recap:

Goals:

Here were my Q2 Goals:

  1. Finish these books:

Christine by Stephen King

The Candleberry Chronicles: The Burning Candle by Caden Gamez

Beastly by Alex Flinn

100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

I finished Christine, The Candleberry Chronicles: The Burning Candle, Beastly and 100 Days of Sunlight pretty much via audiobook!

I’m on the second half of Throne of Glass.

I did start and finish Bree Boyd is a Legend by Leah Johnson and The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes!

This allowed me to finish my 2025 Goodreads Goal of finishing 12 books in a year! It’s the first time I’ve ever finished a Goodreads Goal that I’ve set.

I think I’m going to increase it, but I’m not sure by how much.

2. Write book reviews

Yeah, that has not happened…what with me taking a one-month summer term—and the writing projects I’m working on…I haven’t had time.

I’m honestly not sure when I’ll have time, but it’s something I’ll get to in the second half of the year eventually.

3. Write the second half of the first draft of Can You Spell Werewolf? if not by the end of April, then the end of May.

This one, I accomplished on May 20th!

I had been reading the first draft starting the second half of June, and today, I’m going to start redrafting the story…

Despite only reading and having notes on 13 out of the 52.

4. Write and post 30 blog post poems, 26 for the NaPoWrimo Diaries Series in April

This one didn’t work out in particular, since I only posted seven.

I think, apart from the NaPoWrimo Diaries style, I’m going to finish the poetic alphabet once a week starting next week or the week after.

5. Plan out the overarching the story of Season 1 and the first two books of Car Gone Rogue

This one I did not have time for at all, and I think I’m honestly going to have to save it for September.

In fact, I’m going to have Car Gone Rogue be just a seven-book series instead of a seven-season serial series like I was planning.

BLOGGING RECAP:

This is everything I posted this quarter:

Ablaze: NaPoWrimo Diaries Series (Day 1, Part 1)

BEASTLY (NaPoWrimo Diaries, Day 1, Part 2)

CATALYST (NaPoWrimo Diaries, Day 2)

Destiny (NaPoWrimo Diaries, Day 3)

ERASURE (NaPoWrimo Diaries, Day 4)

FALLEN (NaPoWrimo Diaries, Day 5)

GRANDILOQUENT (NaPoWrimo Diaries Day 6)

CHANGE OF PLANS

Goodbye, April…Hello, May!

The End of A Four-Ish Month Journey

Goodbye, May, Hello June!

Something Mysterious This Way Comes

The Batman vs. Captain America 4: When Third Acts Decide Everything

Brave New Week Update

To give for the last three blog posts—I’m launching a new website on July 14, which will contain mystery reviews from multiple media formats and musical reviews, but also the serialization of the D.C. Double Dilemma, like I originally intended, instead of An Ex-Sleuth’s New Beginning, which is getting delayed all the way to October 2028.

But I’m also starting a cross-website blog series called the 2020s Sequel Curse series, where I’m evaluating sequels of franchises that started in 2000s and 2010s, and how they are inferior to their predecessors—with few exceptions, and I will post blog posts about those blog posts as well.

The sequel that I’m evaluating this month is called Captain America: Brave New World as part of a Brave New Week series that’s my pilot launch series for the 2020s Sequel Curse series.

Q3 Goals/Vision

  1. Write all of the sixth and final draft of the D.C. Double Dilemma so it can be serialized at an accelerated 3-4 chapter chunk every 2 days rate on Wattpad and a slower 2 chapters a day twice a week rate on my second author website.
  2. Finish the second draft of Can You Spell Werewolf? by October 1st.
  3. Have a successful launch for the Mystery & Media Maestro website.
  4. Launch the 2020s Sequel Curse series successfully.
  5. Post at least half of the remaining poetic alphabet by the end of the quarter.
  6. Start planning out Car Gone Rogue in September.

That’s all from me…at least for right now!

How was April, May, and June for you? What are your goals for the next three months?
